MASSAGE MODALITIES

All of our massages have a 15-minute buffer scheduled into the session.  This means if you are scheduling a 60-minute massage, the 60 minutes is what you will receive as time on the table.

We want you to get the most out of your massage session. Unlike other places, we do not call it an hour knowing the hands-on portion is only 50 minutes and 10 minutes for "transition time".

CBD OIL MASSAGE

Add CBD oil to your massage to enhance the effects of your massage.  CBD oil can help aid in relaxation^, and has been known to help with different inflammatory conditions.  The brand of oil we are using is infused with over 99% pure, odorless and colorless CBD Isolate. CBD Isolate allows them to accurately dose their products with the needed amount of milligrams and avoid the smell and color of hemp oil.

*CBD oil massage is available for an upgrade fee of $25 and is available to be added on to all massage modalities with the exception of the pre or post natal massage.

At this time CBD is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding

SWEDISH OR RELAXATION MASSAGE

A Swedish massage is great for anyone new to massage to anyone who wants to relax. Using a variety of strokes from kneading to light, rhythmic tapping, a Swedish massage focuses on the top layers of muscle in the body. Along with joint movement guided by the massage therapist, a Swedish massage relieves muscle tension to relax and energize the client. The massage therapists of Round Rock Health and Wellness will customize every Swedish massage to the needs of the client focusing on the total body or specific points of tension. A Swedish massage is great for first time clients and regular clients who want to prevent stress and tension from building up.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE AND MYOFACIAL RELEASE

A deep tissue massage is more specific than the Swedish massage since the massage work focuses on your problem areas. A deep tissue massage is excellent for eliminating tension from your body, plus reducing muscle tightness and pain. Techniques used may include trigger point therapy, myofascial release, neuromuscular re-education, and active release stretching. The massage therapists of Round Rock Health and Wellness will talk to every client before their massage begins to determine their specific areas of concern and possible causes of their muscle tension and pain. Once the therapist has assessed the areas of concern, the massage can be tailored to best treat those areas to give each client maximum relief.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Sports massage is designed to prepare the athlete for their best performance, reduce fatigue, and relieve muscle swelling and tension. During physical activity—especially strenuous—muscle tension builds up in the body’s soft tissues. Due to overextension or overuse, minor injuries and lesions occur in these tissues that can cause a great deal of pain and poor athletic performance. Sports massage helps alleviate pain and prevent such injuries that greatly affect flexibility, mobility, response time, and overall performance in athletic events.

Cupping Massage

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

The cups may be made of:

  • Glass

  • Plastic

  • Silicone

Cupping therapy might be trendy now, but it’s not new. It dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. One of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, the Ebers Papyrus, describes how the ancient Egyptians used cupping therapy in 1,550 B.C.

LYMPHATIC MASSAGE

The lymph system is in charge of removing toxins, waste, other unwanted material from the body. So when the lymphatic fluid is not flowing properly, the body feels sluggish, blocked, and swollen, plus the body is more vulnerable to infections and diseases. A lymphatic massage stimulates the flow of the lymphatic system to eliminate fluid build-up and muscle contractions for better overall health and healing. Lymphatic massage is beneficial to anyone experiencing edema (swelling). A lymphatic massage at Round Rock Health and Wellness can improve swelling after surgery or injury.

PRENATAL MASSAGE

Prenatal massage therapy can be greatly instrumental in pre/post-natal care to improve discomfort and relieve anxiety. As the uterus grows during pregnancy, organs experience pressure that result from that expansion. This shift of internal organs can cause great pain for mothers. Receiving a massage during pregnancy can relieve backaches, a stiff neck, cramps, tension, and swelling. It’s also been known to aid in a better night sleep. Treatments assist in releasing nerve tension and increases blood circulation as well. Our massage therapists at Round Rock Health and Wellness are trained to give pregnancy massages, and we look forward to making you feel better and move as you progress through each phase of pregnancy.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Get more out of any massage by adding on a full or mini hot stone massage during your session at Round Rock Health and Wellness. The hot stone are carefully placed on acupressure points of the body to soothe and relax the muscles before the massage therapist begins the massage. With the muscles warmed up, it is easier for the Round Rock hot stone massage therapist to knead and manipulate the soft tissue and muscles for greater relief from pain or tension. Hot stones can also melt your mental tension and stress to lift your attitude. Hot stone massages have also been found to improve sleep, some fibromyalgia pain, certain cancer symptoms, and boost your immune system in scientific studies.
